Established in 2003, the Group have grown substantially over the years and now employ over 400 people nationally. In recent years, Emtec Group have expanded, and now have a number of companies operating under the Group which offer a wide range of services.
To support the company’s growth efforts, Emtec Group decided to implement a fully comprehensive, construction industry-specific ERP solution. Supported by Xperience Dynamics, NAVcontracts and NAVservice are powered by Microsoft Dynamics NAV and will help the Group manage business operations going forward.
Prior to implementing NAVcontracts and NAVservice, Emtec Group used a bespoke version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, which was supported by another Dynamics NAV partner.
Colin Hemphill, Group Finance Manager at Emtec Group comments, “We were limited by the capabilities of our previous solution when it came to things like reporting. It was also an older version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, which we knew wouldn’t sustain going forward. Because of this, we decided to go to market, with the hope of finding a construction industry solution, tailored to meet our unique business needs, without being bespoke. When we learned about Xperience Dynamics and its industry specific solutions, NAVcontracts and NAVservice, we felt it would be an excellent fit.”
Colin continues, “When we went to market, we looked at various ERP Partners. However Xperience Dynamics stood out. Microsoft Dynamics NAV is widely used, and the fact that their offering came with industry functionality as standard, made our decision easier.”
Since implementing NAVcontracts and NAVservice, Emtec Group are benefitting from a single, fully-integrated solution, which is now used by over 50 users across the organisation. Along with NAVcontracts and NAVservice, Emtec Group use NAVmobile for their service staff out in the field, Dime for scheduling services calls and resources, as well as Miracle Payroll.
Colin remarks, “We’ve been live now for three years and everything is going well. The solution has been greatly adopted by our staff and is making things like automatic invoicing and reporting run smoothly. It also makes it easier to get the information we need, for example NAVcontracts provides us with a contract management system that gives us real time control on our contracts such as profitability, costs and revenues and it helps us spot any potential problems as they happen. This gives us the opportunity to react quickly, minimising risk and ensuring a contracts profitability. We can also easily tailor reports to suit our business processes.”
Colin adds, “The add-ons also work seamlessly, Miracle Payroll for example integrates extremely well with our timesheets.”
Since implementation, Xperience Dynamics continue to support Emtec Group. Colin concludes, “Everything is going great. If there are ever any issues, the team really do go out of their way to find a quick resolution.
